Grim Fairy Tale Webcomic Finds New Home with Transmedia Publisher
TOPEKA, KANSAS (December 19, 2019)—Fox & Willow, an online grim fairytale series, has been acquired by Outland Entertainment. Written by Allison Pang and illustrated by Irma 'Aimo' Ahmed, Fox & Willow debuted in April 2012 and has maintained a strong fanbase ever since. Following the runaway princess, Willow, and her mischievous fox spirit companion, Gideon, the overarching plot centralizes around uncovering Willow's past and Gideon's mysterious curse. Yet, fairytales, such as from "Rapunzel" to "The Two Sisters," are interwoven throughout each adventure with just enough familiarity for readers to identify. "Since its launch in 2012, Fox & Willow has been an amazing journey for both me and Aimo," says Fox & Willow writer Allison Pang. "Aligning with Outland Entertainment provides us a wonderful opportunity to expand the world and its outlet potentials while continuing to send our favorite characters on new adventures and explore new fairytales from around the world. ABOUT FOX & WILLOW Fox & Willow explores traditional fairy tales through the lens of exiled Princess Willow and her fox-spirit companion, Gideon, who frequently accompanies her in human form. In the first tale, Willow and Gideon work together to solve a murder, freeing a ghost trapped as a swan. Later issues tackle "The Little Mermaid" and "Little Red Riding Hood," as well as exploring folktales from East Asian traditions.
