In Short: A young red panda seeks the truth behind rumors of a sea monster by harnessing her curiosity, perseverance, and determination!

What's It About: When young Cedar hears about a monster living in the nearby sea, she’s driven to discover the truth behind all the rumors. She researches in the library, teaches herself to build a boat, and goes on an epic adventure to see the truth for herself. This debut picture book from a team of sisters features full watercolor illustrations from artist Aaron Palsmeier. With vocabulary words designed to challenge emergent readers, the book also contains a helpful glossary and the real world animal facts in the back matter.

Creator

The Dreher Sisters - Authors/Designers Sisters, Michelle and Angie, grew up military brats with their Korean mom and American dad and were fortunate enough to experience life in Germany and South Korea before finally settling in Oklahoma.

Later, Michelle moved to Kansas City, Missouri for college in 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration and art history. In 2005, she started her own letterpress printshop, Two Tone Press.

Angie also had a love and eye for the arts, however she chose a more pragmatic degree in business. In 2011, she and her husband relocated to Kansas City so Angie could join her sister at the printshop.

Over a decade later, they still work collaboratively and fairly seamlessly together... (as long as they’re not too hangry).
