Wintermourne launches as part of Kickstarter’s Make 100

In the frozen world of Wintermourne, death is only the beginning! Brought to you by author Cullen Bunn and illustrator Jeremy Mohler, this system agnostic roleplaying game launches on Kickstarter today as part of the crowdfunding platform’s Make 100 event!

Wintermourne is an exciting new world of fantasy, horror, and adventure. Mortals live out their bitter, cold days in their villages, ruled over by an anti-theological regime as they struggle against the feral dead and secretly pray for the rebirth of the gods. Magic and witchcraft has been outlawed, though some sorcerers still practice their art in secluded and god-touched places. The remnants of the gods are scattered throughout the world, sought by those who wish to forget divine power as well as those who long to remember. It’s a fantastic starting point for a new game, and it works just as well as an addition to an existing campaign.

Rewards include the game as both a digital and a print zine, the latter of which is limited to only 100 copies. Despite the small print run and the 7-day campaign, make no mistake: Wintermourne is the start of something big! As Outland’s newest World, this product will be supported by a slew of forthcoming roleplaying supplements, short stories, anthologies, and longer works of fiction.

Plus, it’s brought to life by the ultimate Outland dream team. Founder and Creative Director Jeremy Mohler has lent his talent in illustration and design to many of the publisher’s products. Author Cullen Bunn’s no slouch himself, with runs writing the Deadpool and Uncanny X-Men comics, plus The Sixth Gun and Harrow County, and prose including Outland’s Raze and Crooked Hills. Backers are in good hands with these two.
