Outland Entertainment is proud to bring Jason Rosen’s epic graphic novel Monsterwood together as a single omnibus volume! Originally launched in 2014, all three issues of this fantasy journey, written by Rosen with Nick Efstathiou and illustrated by Steve Ellis and Chris Campana, are now presented as a single hardcover collection. You can follow the Kickstarter for launch here -

In a world of monsters—some of them wild, and others who have risen to the top of the social elite—it’s hard to determine the heroes from the villains. After the death of the king and queen fourteen years ago, Princess Jocasta is determined to complete the ritual that will make her the rightful ruler of Magog. For that, she must travel into the Monsterwood. Meanwhile, a scrappy youth named Jovis flees the city, pursued by guards, determined to find his own path to a new future outside the city’s walls. Together, they begin to realize that everything they thought they knew is a lie—and that the two of them hold the keys to Magog’s future.

Inspired by the works of Jim Henson and brought to life through Rosen’s own sculptures, the characters of Monsterwood are reminiscent of fantasy films of the 1980s, such as Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. The creatures that populate the pages are at once fearsome and beautiful, and the story that propels them forward has the familiar beats of a hero's journey in a lush original fantasy setting.

“I am beyond excited to be working with Outland on the Monsterwood Omnibus,” says Rosen. “Not only is Outland such a great home for Monsterwood, it is also a perfect way to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the first Monsterwood book. With the recent completion of the original trilogy, it is a thrill to be presenting it in such a deluxe collection for those new to the series. No doubt, this also marks the beginning of a whole new chapter for Monsterwood. New stories, new characters, new and uncharted territories and cultures, plus a whole lot more. We can’t wait to take you deeper!”

The Kickstarter for the complete omnibus of Monsterwood launches on May 13, 2024. Follow to be updated when we launch -
