OUTLAND ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES THE WOLF’S NAME FROM RAELYN TEAGUE
Independent Publisher Signs Historical Fantasy Novel Through #dvpit
Kansas City, MO: Outland Entertainment is pleased to announce the acquisition of a debut historical fantasy novel from author Raelyn Teague. The Wolf’s Name was acquired by senior editor Gwendolyn N. Nix for Outland Entertainment by participating in Twitter’s #dvpit event. #dvpit is an opportunity where writers pitch their stories on the social media platform for editors and agents to evaluate.
“I was drawn to Teague’s initial pitch on Twitter during the #dvpit event due to my own love of rich historical fantasy stories. Once I read it, I knew it would be a favorite of those who are fans of Anne of Green Gables and Tarzan looking for a magical twist,” said Gwendolyn Nix. “This was Outland’s first time participating in #dvpit and now we are hooked on Twitter events like these.”
"This was my first year participating in #dvpit, so I was thrilled to hear of Outland's interest in my pitch,” said Raelyn Teague. “As a debut author, I was nervous about finding the right home for my novel, but when Gwendolyn Nix told me of her vision for my book, I knew she understood it the way I did. I'm so excited to work with her and Outland to bring this novel to readers."
The Wolf’s Name is an adult historical fantasy with elements of mystery, magic, and romance taking place in 1885 New Westminster, Canada. Matilda O’Connor is certain her hypnotist brother, Nathaniel, was murdered by a malicious neighbor, but the death is ruled a suicide and Nathaniel labelled a traitor to his country. Struggling to run a failing farm and to raise her younger siblings alone, Matilda sets out to prove her brother’s innocence, but when she saves the life of the one person who has answers—a mysterious man with impossible strength and regenerative abilities—he won’t say a word to her and believes he’s a wolf. As Matilda vows to unlock the werewolf’s secrets and her attachment to him grows, she discovers a dark and intoxicating magic with the power to change men into monsters and learns Nathaniel—and the killer she hunts—might have been something far more dangerous than traitors.
The Wolf’s Name is currently slotted for a 2022/2023 release.

About Raelyn Teague: Born and raised in Canadian cowboy territory, Raelyn Teague started telling stories since before she knew her alphabet. While at university, she turned her back on her love of writing in pursuit of a shinier, more "practical" career until she learned having her soul slowly rot away wasn't more practical after all. Luckily, writing (mostly) welcomed her back. An artist and martial artist, when she isn't reading or working on her latest novel, she's doodling the characters from her favourite video games or reminding her cat she already fed him.
