Press Release: Outland Entertainment brings a collection of Barry Blair’s comics to the digital age
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SUMMARY: Outland Entertainment brings a collection of Barry Blair’s comics to the digital age for the first time.
TOPEKA, KANSAS, March 3, 2015 — Outland Entertainment is pleased to announce the release of a collection of Barry Blair‘s comics in digital format for the first time since the 90’s. “The Barry Blair Library” will include approximately 300 issues and over 6000 pages of content collected from over a half-dozen publishers that Barry worked within the 1980’s and 90’s. This includes comics from Aircel, Nightwynd, Davdez Arts, WARP Graphics, and Sirius comics to name a few.
“I can’t begin to explain my excitement to have Outland involved in helping to get Barry’s work back out into the world. He created, wrote, drew, and published some really amazing material, much of which was revolutionary in comics at the time,” states Outland Entertainment’s Jeremy Mohler, “it’s a shame that it hasn’t been available all these years and it’s going to be a pleasure to help get it back out into the world.”
“Blood N Guts“, “Demon Hunter“, “Dragonring“, “Elflord” and “Gun Fury” are the first titles you can look forward to (re)discover. You can currently purchase all the number one issues of these series over at the Outland Entertainment website .
In addition to republishing the out-of-print material, Outland will also be working closely with Mat Nastos, the license owner, to reboot select properties. The rebooted properties will start with a new Elflord series, which will premiere as a Kickstarter in late March and featuring a new story from Mat Nastos and artwork from Tony Vassallo and Pedro Figue.

It will be followed by a Dragonforce reboot later in the year.
“Nothing could please me more than having the chance to help make this new announcement. One of the promises I made to Barry when he passed the rights to his work to me back in 2008 was that I would treat them like my own children. That I would make sure they were handled with the respect and care they deserved. This partnership with Outland Entertainment allows me to uphold that promise and give Barry’s fan-favorite creations the opportunity to shine once more. “Hawk”, “Windblade”, “Kohl Drake”, and all of Barry’s lost children couldn’t hope for a better home than with the fine folks at Outland,” Mat Nastos says.
Whether you are an avid fan who owns all the printed editions or you are new to Barry Blair‘s work, the digital versions will not only preserve a cult comic library but will also provide you an easier way to have all your favorite comics with you at all times.
New issues will be made available monthly.

Press Release: Outland Entertainment launches its own line of webcomics
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SUMMARY: Outland Entertainment launches its own line of webcomics with five titles.
TOPEKA, KANSAS, FEBRUARY 24, 2015 — Outland Entertainment is proud to announce the launch of its new line of webcomics. The comics will update at least one page per week in black and white on their websites.
“I’ve felt for a long time that webcomics are the new frontier of comics and sequential storytelling and I’m extremely excited about the line of works we’ve developed”, says Outland Entertainment’s Jeremy Mohler.
Ithaca [created and written by Emily Hall, illustrated by Dean Kotz and Jeremy Mohler] and Mars2577 [created and written by Gabe Schmidt, illustrated by Nicolas Giacondino] are available as of today, while other projects will be launched during the following weeks:
Remnants [created, written and illustrated by Alec Morgan] – March 2nd;
Nightfell [created and written by Jeremiah Tolbert, illustrated by Nicolas Giacondino and Jeremy Mohler] – March 9th;
N0.1R [created by Nicolas Giacondino and Scott Colby. writen by Scott Colby & illustrated by Nicolas Giacondino] – March 23rd.
“Ithaca is an homage to the Midwest. There’s no better way to discover the strange beauty of a place than to go on a journey through it. Artist Dean Kotz perfectly captured the gritty, moody atmosphere I was going for”, says Emily Hall, creator of the modern, Tarantino-inspired retelling of The Odyssey, Ithaca.
“Remnants is a project very near and dear to me. It’s the first story I ever wrote myself and the first comic I produced entirely on my own (with a little help with the lettering from Owen Staley). I hope other people will enjoy reading this first issue as much as I did producing it! (Hopefully it won’t take them as long!)”, Alec Morgan tells us .
“For Nightfell, we began with a basic premise: what if the undead were the good guys? With that simple question, the world of Nightfell was born — and there, nothing is quite what it seems at first. The artwork on the page may be black and white, but the moral tones of Nightfell’s characters are more varied than that,” states Nightfell creator, Jeremiah Tolbert, a story that challenges the preconceived meanings of light versus darkness.
Gabe Schmidt mentions, “As someone who has been a fan of webcomics for years and graphic novels for far longer, I am excited at this opportunity to be involved in the melding of the two.”
And Scott Colby adds “N0.1R is an old school whodunnit starring a cast of really cool robots. Artist Nic Giacondino does an amazing job bringing both the characters and the setting to life.”

“I met Chris and Nick through Freelance Forge, a discussion forum for active and prospective RPG freelancers, where the pairs propensity for winning practice contests has become a running joke.” says William Ward, Director of Games at Outland Entertainment. “I feel fortunate that the Wasko brothers were able to collaborate on our first product for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.”
The Arcane Focus: Secrets of Sensory Magic is available in PDF from Paizo.com and DriveThruRPG.com.
